As Oy Helsingin Kruunu
Helsinki

As Oy Helsingin Kruunu is a residential apartment building in Kruunuvuorenranta, in the south of Koirasaarentie, with 49 residential homes for seniors with hearing, visual or physical disabilities.

The building’s speciality is the light artwork of the walled and plastered facades and the suspended balconies. The choice of interior materials considered the movement of visually impaired residents. Contrasting floor and wall colours make it easier to see the space. The elevators of the building are voice enabled, and the stairs are equipped with continuous handrails on both sides. The storage facilities are located near the dwellings and dimensioned for easy use with a wide corridor. Auxiliary and outdoor equipment stores are mainly located on the yard level. The building has an unobstructed entrance from both the courtyard and the street.
