Itis Cinema
Helsinki, Itäkeskus

In November 2018 Finnkino’s newest cinema with nine halls was opened in connection with the Itis shopping centre in Itäkeskus, Helsinki. The largest and most beautiful screen, with 358 seats, is Finland’s first IMAX® theatre.

Wereldhave Finland Oy, the company behind the project, decided to make a significant change to Itis by investing a new movie theatre on the site formerly occupied by the shop, Anttila. This carefully guarded secret was released to the media at the end of 2017 when our design work was already well under way. During the project, our planning area expanded to include the design of the restaurant and lobby area near the cinema. All sectors of the project were designed using Building Information Model (BIM) software.
