Residential block of Kivistö (Kivistön kortteli)

This distinctive residential block next to Kivistö station consists of three separate buildings and seven housing companies. Our starting point has been to create a cosy and varied street scene in a large block that fits the architectural look of Kivistö.

On the side of the Topasia Square, the block is bordered by a curved 12-storey building – with one-fourth of the square surrounding the Kivistö Coliseum. On the other side of the block, the buildings are 5- and 6-storey. There will be 327 apartments in the block and a parking facility under the paved yard. The buildings are made with different-coloured bricks and balcony facades and street-side entrances have coloured and white facade panels. High-quality premises for businesses such as restaurants and cafés will be built on Topazia Square. Samuli Alonen’s environmental artwork will be on the square next to the commercial premises.
