Planning and Plot Delivery Competition

We participated in the preparation of the proposal for the Lepola IV area planning and plot delivery competition organized by the City of Järvenpää. The participants in the competition had to prepare a land use plan for the area of their choice and make a proposal for the planned blocks and key targets. The competition was organized in four different blocks, each chosen by the implementer through a separate evaluation.

The aim of the competition was to build an oasis for families with children, especially in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, where everyday life is smooth and safe. The area offers a quality urban experience in a high-quality and distinctive city centre. Buildings in the area must be of high architectural quality. The Lepola area is part of the nationally important cultural landscape of Tuusula’s coastal road. Considering the cultural and landscape values was an important starting point for the design. The plan was based on a draft sketch drawn up by the city and a quality manual.

We created a competition proposal for three areas. As a result of the competition, we will continue to plan for sub-area 1. The aim of our plan is to create a cohesive residential environment that implements a sustainable lifestyle model, which is based on the image of a rural environment.
