Pajalantie 21-23

When an upcoming change in city zoning comes into effect, the industrial and warehouse building area in the vicinity of Järvenpää city centre will become a residential district. The residential block consists of seven 7-storey and 8-storey residential blocks of flats, with about 300 flats with shared facilities and street-level retail premises. The buildings are bound together as a single, sculptural whole with a folded roof and facade-specific effect colours.

The courtyard and parking are central to the common area, which is designed with park-like islands and a storm water retention system, which consists of green roofs on the car shelters and recessed garland vines. The park-line, lush green impression of the yard area is also supported by the green-roofed car decks on the periphery of the block.
